East Ridge Baptist Church

"Fellowship of Love"

 Fellowship of Love

About Us

We are a Southern Baptist Church that was formed in 2005 by the merging of Twelfth Street Baptist and Murray Street Baptist churches. Both had been in existence for over 50 years. We are conservative and fundamental in our doctrine, excited about what God is doing and rightfully described as “A Fellowship of Love”.

Frequent comments from those who visit our services:

  • “I could really feel the presence of God”
  • “Those people are for real”
  • “They accepted me and made me feel comfortable”
  • “I can tell these people really do love others”
  • “I liked the music”
  • “It felt like church”
  • “The sermon was easy to understand. It answered some questions and helped me”
  • “I’ll be back."

Evangelism and Outreach

The primary mission and purpose of East Ridge Baptist Church is to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to our world.

Watch our worship services on KDLF cable television 6-8 times each week.
Hear our pastor on KELB radio 100.5 FM on Wednesdays at 10am and 8pm and Sundays at 2:30pm.

Attend almost any major parade in Lake Charles and you will find East Ridge people handing out Gospel tracts. You will also find us at rodeos, football games, and festivals sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Our members are encouraged to share their faith at every opportunity and receive periodic training on how to do it.

Is East Ridge an evangelistic church? Without a doubt!

Missions

East Ridge is involved in mission work in as many ways as we can. Our members have traveled to Mexico, Honduras, Romania, Thailand and several different locations in the United States on mission trips. We directly support missionaries in Honduras, Florida, New Mexico and Louisiana.

Our primary involvement in missions is through the Southern Baptist Convention’s 10,000 missionaries around the world, six seminaries, Disaster Relief, hospitals, etc. by giving 14% of our undesignated receipts to the Cooperative Program. We also support missions in Louisiana by giving monthly through the Louisiana Baptist Convention and Carey Baptist Association.

These missions include Baptist Collegiate Ministries on several university campuses, Louisiana College in Pineville, Grace Ministries in Lake Charles, Dry Creek Baptist Encampment, Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home and ABC Pregnancy Resource Center.

We receive a special offering 3 times a year, one for our state missionaries, one for those in North America, and one for those serving outside the U.S.
